About
The Supplier Transformation Project (2.1) held a half-day Forum in Los Angeles on November 9, 2006, entitled "Accelerating Supply Chain Integration: Supplier Training Impacts in Real Time." The Forum's purpose was twofold: to convey the nature of the supply chain transformation, and profile the Corridor and California resources available to suppliers to adapt to the transformation and remain competitive. Jaime Fall, Assistant Secretary for the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, was the Forum's opening speaker, discussing the State's support of the WIRED initiative and its efforts to enhance competitiveness. Transformation success factors for suppliers were discussed in detail at the Forum's presentations, and included: a "vision of transformation"; adaptability to the transformation; embracing of Six Sigma and Lean; and staying in front of the Transformation. The Forum is being followed by development and analysis of a supplier survey, which will also further inform the Smart Suppliers Project (2.2).
